The Catholic Women Leauge

The objects of the League shall be to unite Catholic women of Canada:
to achieve individual and collective spiritual development,
to promote the teachings of the Catholic church,
to exemplify the Christian ideal in home and family life,
to protect the sanctity of life,
to enhance the role of women in church and society,
to recognize the human dignity of all people everywhere,
to uphold and defend Christian education and values in the modern world,
to contribute to the understanding and growth of religious freedom, social justice, peace and harmony.
The CWL organization in St. Joseph’s Parish was established March 10, 1957.

The Living Rosary Association

The Living Rosary was founded by Venerable Pauline Jaricot in France in 1826. Its purpose is to assist Catholic missionary priests, nuns & religious to spread the Gospel and Marian devotions worldwide and also pray daily rosary for the intentions of the whole Catholic Church. The Living Rosary Association at St. Joseph’s Church was established around year 2000 .

Rosary Sodality

The St. Joseph’s Ladies’ Rosary Society was established in 1945. Special devotion to our Lady of the Rosary was the foundation of this organization. Each member of the Rosary Sodality is encouraged to deepen their own relationship with Christ, and Mary, his Mother.

Altar Servers

Altar servers at St. Joseph’s Church are entrusted with the duties of preparing the altar for the Eucharist; of assisting other ministers and helping our parish celebrate the mysteries of our faith in a spirit of reverence and prayer.

Youth Band “Alleluia”

The St. Joseph’s Church Youth Band “Alleluia” was formed in 2005. This youth choir is composed of members from different walks of life: high school students, university students, and even those who are married and are raising their own future members. In addition to leading the musical aspects of the liturgy, the youth choir’s mission is to praise God with a contemporary sound – utilizing modern instruments such as the acoustic guitar and electric piano. Currently, the choir has a repertoire of approximately 150 pieces that include both traditional hymns, as well as contemporary liturgical music. Apart from Sunday worship, the choir also participates in banquets, conferences, weddings and funerals.

Parish choir

The parish choir at St. Joseph’s Church assists at every second Sunday Liturgy at 11:30 am. Rehearsals take place every second Saturday from 10:00 to 11:30 am. The choral season begins from the first week in September and lasts to the last week in June.

St. Joseph’s Parish Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Scholarship fund was established in June, 1972, to honour the memory of two former pastors Rev. Dr. Thomas Tarasiuk and Very Rev. Dr. Edward Gira and their dedication to education. The three main purposes for its existence were to assist and promote the advancement of Catholic education, to assist and promote the study and advancement of Polish culture in Canada and to assist in the advancement of education of members of St. Joseph’s Parish in Brantford.

The Parish Council

St. Joseph’s Parish Council Constitution was officially approved on January 20, 1982. The aims of the council are to promote, coordinate and encourage apostolic activity in the parish, to provide leadership and direction in its spiritual growth and to assist the Pastor in coordination all parish activities.
